Finding a course that is walkable and fun can be extremely difficult.  In fact, many courses won’t even let you walk unless you are a member or have other privileges.  This is a silly practice as we need folks to get in shape and have more fun out there on the course.   Our goal is help identify courses that are walkable.  We are still settling in on the criteria for what is a good walkable course.  Here’s a list of our initial ideas:
  • Does it allow walkers at all or are there restrictions
  • Terrain – hilly or flat
  • Distance from green exit to next tee
  • Specially moved walking paths (so you don’t have to walk on the cart path)
  • Walk only pricing
  • Course quality (based on other reviews, such as golfdigest or other legitimate sources)
We will need help from the community in evaluating courses.  Most of the above criteria should be readily available, but entering the data will take time.  If you are interested in being a lead for your geographical area, please let us know by using the Contact Us form.  Initially, all support would be on a volunteer basis but we hope to change this over time.  Eventually, we would like to offer player privileges etc. with courses around the country. – Peter
