An essential component when you are a walker is the cart. We have previously discussed the merits of push vs pull carts. We will look a little deeper into a few options for push carts.
When it comes push carts, they are more bulky because they use a three or four-wheel configurations. As such, it can be a bit hard to place it in your car trunk. Well, a relatively unknown brand has tried to solve this by creating “the Blade”.
The “Blade”, developed by Big Max Golf, is quite unique. When folded, the dimensions are just 33.6 x 24.4 x 4.9 inches. That is quite an achievement and will easily fit in most trunks. It only weighs 14 lbs, so it is a lightweight as well.
“The new Blade+ trolley not only fits the definition of the ultra-compact category, but actually creates the need for a new trolley category of its own.”
The retail cost is $299, which is quite reasonable.
In addition, Big Max has several interesting push carts available. But, check out their cart accessories, which is extensive. My favorite is the i-Dry Rainsystem that will keep your clubs completely dry (and in style)
Another wonderful push cart that deserves mentioning is the Sun-Mountain MC3 Micro Cart.
“The latest offering in our patented Micro-Cart® line, the MC3 like its predecessors, folds in two simple steps and has a small, folded footprint making it easy to get in and out of your vehicle. The MC3, due to its larger diameter tires is noticeably easy to push and has a sporty appeal.”
This is great and stable four-wheel cart and when you fold it up, the dimensions are 26.5 x 14.5 x 13.5. The floor space is definitely less and it will fit in your trunk. With a height of 13.5 inches, the option to place the bag on top of the cart is not available. It is almost three pounds heavier, but still very much a lightweight solution. At a retail cost of $199.99, it is also a more affordable option if trunk space is not an issue.
There are many other cart options available out there in the market. These are two that caught my eye as being functional and practical for discerning walking golfer.
