Just like there are some very walkable courses, the following courses are on the complete opposite and require carts to be enjoyed.

  • Lake Presidential Golf Club in Upper Marlbro, MD – This is a  beautiful track nestled in a relatively new housing development.   Unlike other residential community courses, the houses are set back from the golf course, so there’s no real risk of finding a yard.  However, the distances from the green to tee makes this track almost impossible to walk.
  • Blue Ridge Shadows Resort in Front Royal, VA – Voted one of the best courses in VA by Virginia.org.  It is a challenging course with some excellent vistas, but there are lengthy distances between greens and tees in addition to a lot of hills which makes it tough to walk.
  • Potomac Shores Golf Course near Dumfries, VA – A signature Jack golf course.  Voted one of the best new courses in 2015 by Golf Digest.  It is a great course to play and memorable.  Unfortunately, it probably ranks as one of the least walkable courses.  Long distances between greens and tees in addition to lots of hills.  In fact, I do not believe walking is an available option.

Please let us know if there’s a course that we should add to this list.

Best,

Walking!
